"...One of those photos uploaded to Farah’s account on Jan 20 appears to show him being trailed closely by Driouch, the Qatari former world junior 1500 metres champion..."
His defensive argument is so so cheap!!!
He trained with a convicted doper, but now he says that he didn't know who Driouch is, or why he was in the same track???
For Mo, Driouch only "jump in" in the middle of a w/o? wow!!! In the Lance Armstrong's scale of foolishness (also saying that "he hired local guys" -when everybody knows that Driouch is Moroccan) this is pathetic!!!
"...Ricky Simms, Farah’s agent, confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that Farah had no knowledge of Driouch’s apparent presence in Ethiopia and he is not associated with any other athletes who may have been on the track at the same time as him. “Mo was in Ethiopia by himself,” said Simms. “He hired some local athletes to pace for him during his workouts and he wasn’t part of any other training group. It’s not unusual for people to jump in. He has not got any association with any other athletes that may be out there.”
LRC 2nd Note Noon Eastern 2/28: We have an article on this here http://www.letsrun.com/news/2015/02/drug-cheat-hamza-driouch-training-mo-farah-ethiopia-supplied-17-year-old-doper/. Ricky Simms wrote us this morning saying, "I woke up to read the latest Mo story. You are correct in your summary of the situation on letsrun.com – the journalist misattributed the statement and has now corrected it. He did not talk to Mo yesterday, I had not spoken to Mo about it, therefore Mo did not ‘deny’ anything - the Telegraph story has been updated here – http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/athletics/11441027/Mo-Farah-pictured-running-with-Qatari-drug-cheat-Hamza-Driouch.html . As I said I haven’t spoken to Mo about it but I expect it would have been hard for him to know anything about the Qatari kid being banned as his ban was only announced a few days ago when Mo was already back in Portland." We also note that the Daily Telegraph has removed this quote, "Ricky Simms, Farah’s agent, confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that Farah had no knowledge of Driouch’s apparent presence in Ethiopia and he is not associated with any other athletes who may have been on the track at the same time as him" from its article without issuing a correction. We have reached out to the Daily Telegraph for comment. We're also going to change the title of this thread as it is inaccurate.
