The miler wins by a lot over the 59 half guy Zane Robertson.

2 Zane Robertson NZL 13:25.41 SB

5 Mitch Brown AUS 13:49.54 PB

8 Daniel Balchin NZL 14:30.93 SB
Jake Robertson NZL DNF
Hayden Mclaren NZL DNF
Julian Matthews NZL DNF
Malcolm Hicks NZL DNF
Somehow, we missed this thread that has more info on the races. Maybe because it was the middle of the night?
YOu are correcrt. Tilastapaja.org had the twins mixed up. We've changed the results above. Zane was 2nd. Jake a DNF.
Willis has got to be sharper than Zane right now, wonder if he left to the last lap?
Andy Wheating won the 800 over Gregson also
Wasn't Hassan Mead supposed to run?

Mead apparently couldn't get a visa to Australia (where he was flying to before continuing on to NZ) and thus couldn't get to NZ for the race.
http://trackchallenge.nz/2015/02/22/mead-and-choge-withdrawal-from-track-challenge/Seems weird that he couldn't get one especially since he probably would have been spending minimal time in Australia anyway.
That's a nice 3 second win for Nick. I'm sure Zane doesn't have a lot of wheels right now but 13:22 isn't bad for Willis, especially in a race that didn't have people pulling him along to a faster time.
Was there at the meet. Seemed to be something set up between the robertsons - they signalled to each other with 800 to go and then Jake made a big move to the front, almost as if starting a long kick to home to drain out willis. but willis responded and at 600 made a big move that neither twin could answer. zane stayed close but jake had nothing left and almost slowed to a jog, before pulling out altogether. willis is an absolute class act.
this is a clash of training lead-ups that I'd like to have seen. Has the video anyone?

Both the brothers have been injured, Zane had a calve problem from the half and has only been training the last 7 days so still a good performance from him.
Jake took 2 weeks off from injury and ran with a broken hand in the race. Acted as a pacemaker to 4k and then stopped.
Not a true reflection of their shape right now
Excuses, excuses. Not a true reflection of blah, blah, blah.
The results of that race completely and truthfully reflect the outcome. Willis FTW, Robertson #1 first loser and Robertson #2 DNF. Seems pretty plain to me.
The Robertson boys have talent, but they do complain a lot.
Jake had big issues with his leg and hand from a fall in the forest in Kenya less than 3 weeks ago, so considering that he was thinking he might not even be able to start he ran a really gutsy race and when he is fully healed will no doubt smash the time he did here over 5k very soon. Zane has a small tear in his calf and is focussing on health before pacing the London Marathon in April so no doubt when his leg comes right he will also be aiming to run low 13s for 5k if not dipping under 13 this Euro/American track season. Class act by the guys this time round, Willis was looking strong as ever. Bring on 2015, Kiwis going to be all over it.
There is no better physio for a calf tear than a 13:25 5k.
Why would anyone run injured if not a championship race.
Pressured into it by athletics NZ. Running with them this morning, neither was particularly keen to race but basically had to do it. Along with being poked and prodded and everything inbetween.
You guys think USATF is bad, but it's a walk in the park compared to what NZ athletes are dealing with.
