In case you are wondering why Andrew Wheating isn't running USA this weekend. We were disappointed to not see hi on the start lists as we think he needs to get back into racing again but then pleased to see him in a meet in New Zealand.
Here are results fro New Zealand today.
1 Andrew Wheating USA 1:48.40 SB
2 Ryan Gregson AUS 1:49.21 SB
3 Brad Mathas NZL 1:49.40

5 Craig Huffer AUS 1:50.04 SB

There is no truth to the rumor that this race was titled, "What the hell happened in Monaco 2010?"
;)
Hopefully both of those guys are back on their way to their amazing 2010 forms.

Seven throws?
-
First number listed is best mark.
Then the six throws. -
1:48.40
Outdoors in decent weather?
Not much progress going on at all really
Look at the recent efforts, some give him quite a bit of latitude, he has greenback while now right? -

So does this mean he's "back baby"?
-
First lap was 53, he was cruising till the last 50m.
Looked so smooth! -

In a manner of speaking, yes: He is back to where he was at the beginning of his 2008 outdoor season.
(And as for me, I am nowhere near where I was at the beginning of my 2008 outdoor season.) -
Andrew led the whole last 400 of the race once the pacer (who was a bit slow) dropped off. Gregson and Mathas looked to challenge in the last 100 but Wheating just glided away without much effort. Won by a pretty large margin and didn't look tired at all at the end. Was surprised by how well known he was by the NZ fans. He was crowded by a lot of teenagers and asked for a lot of photos. Don't get many big time runners like him coming to race in NZ!

Heck of a long flight to go run 1.48...
