Maybe I should have stuck this question in the Seattle vs Houston thread. Anyone know or use any tracks in Houston proper? I live near Rice but that track is typically locked. I have gone to UH in the past but prefer not to workout in the hood.

Bump
Lamar HS. Track is at the corner of Eastside and W. Alabama. It is generally accessible to the public after school. You can sneak in through the front of the school in the morning and use the track. I have not done that in a long time and do not know whether that is still tolerated (people never bothered me when I did it a few years ago).
Reagan High at West 13th and Oxford is open in the afternoon, but can be full of kids for activities (football). I believe there is a group workout on Tuesdays for a running club. So, you can generally count on Tuesdays. It is locked in the mornings, but there is a spot in the fence that you can squeeze through.
Memorial Park has a asphalt 1/4 mi track by the tennis center that is better than nothing.

Thanks, I'll check out Lamar. I train at memorial often and have used the track but tough to do a serious workout on that thing
Make sure you get combat pay.
