The Weather Channel just amended their forecast for New York City to 8"-12" inches and we've already had 5"- 6".
In other words it's an average winter storm.
NOAA updated their forecast at 730 PM and is still saying 20-30 inches
$50 that we don't get accumulation of more than 15" in Central Park.
Like my handle has been saying all day/night, juno is a joke!
You heard it here first folks!
there's a parking garage right outside my dorm. its perimeter is about 400 meters. i'm crazy
There isn't actually anymore snow coming, this is just a pre-planned government practice run for imposing martial law. By the way, all bridges and tunnels out of Manhattan will be closed in 2 hours - get out while you still can.

you guys are WEAK. come live in Montana where blizzards and snow in excess of 15 inches is more common during winter than not. can you imagine the mayhem that would occur were there some type of man made catastrophe that prevented all you one eyebrowed guidos from getting your groceries? it would be lord of the flies mixed with escape from new York. holy wow.

You and the three hundred or so other folk who live in Montana must be very smart.
Well, so far: ridiculous. There are still a few flakes in the air, but that's it: just some mushy slush on the sidewalk. I ended up walking about 2 1/2 miles in the subway station--read a good book most of the time. Turns out that a lap of the second level is roughly a quarter-mile.
As I understood it, we're scheduled to get hit with something more, late tonight and into tomorrow morning; but as for right now, yes, this is a joke. Meanwhile I already got the email that the place where I'm presently working is closed tomorrow, regardless. Great: another low-income week to look forward to.

It's actually a charming place
"Well, the weather outside is delightful."
It's quiet. It's so white.
I have about 50 feet of visibility here in SE CT.
We have perhaps a foot now with 20 more hours of continuous snow fall.
I'm going to go outside later today and snowshoe.
Boston is getting two feet, so is Long Island and parts of Connecticut. NYC is not as bad, but it's bad enough.

18" so far with at least one wind gust at 70 mph. Lost power three times overnight, but it was restored very quickly each time. Should be a fun day.
Where in Boston are you? I'm originally from Quincy.
Lived in Winchester, Newton, Brighton (Cleveland Circle) Allston, Somerville, Wareham and Hyde Park.
Right now there's about fifteen inches of snow outside with more snow rushing down.
