1500 too. I can't remember the guy but he qualified but was made to run again until he lost and they put in an Oregon guy.

He ran like a chump, dawdling in the back of the pack with guys with PRs 20 slower than his. He didn't deserve to be in the final. If he wanted to be in the final he should have run more assertively.

Ryun was placed in a heat. It doesn't matter which heat or why he was placed in it. Ryun got man handled like a bitch in that race. He was the world record holder and ran like a chump novice flailing around at the back of the pack. It doesn't how fast you are in the 1500m if you have poor tactics and no racing skill.
The IP address for these posts is the same IP address for the other posts blaming Ryun for the fall that were made earlier in the thread.
Is this the first instance ever of someone reinteraitung their point on this forum? It is not malicious, rude, or slanderous (unlike 50 percent of the posts on this site). It's merely an opinion on the race. Why the rat this guy out and let the real nasties on here slide?
2004 Olympic marathon stands out - i think Baldini would have won but it never should have happened that way. Obviously, I blame the nutty guy but I still remember watching the security guy on the bike who just let it happen. What was he there to do if not stop people from interfering?
Women's cheating
I think FloJo, the Eastern Bloc and, particularly, the Chinese records stand out.
FloJo just seemed so obvious at the time and I felt for Evelyn Ashford. Marion was FloJo 2.0
Men's cheating
Ramzi ruining 2008
Ben Johnson ruining 1988

YES, Patrick was robbed.

NO, the 3 members of the 1968 U.S. 1500 team were Jim Ryun, Tom Von Ruden and Marty Liquori. None went to college at Oregon.
