I have to give praise to the organizers of the Disney World Marathon. They seem to have taken concerns about past results and course cutting to heart. They are not handling time in house this year, rather switching to industry leader XActe to handle timing.
Consequently, the instances of blatant course cutters (those with only a start and finish time and no intermediate splits) appearing in final results was zero for 2015. They must have been filtered out in immediate post race analysis.
This is a marked improvement over 2014 where a number of runners (including Clydesdale power walkers) were credited with running sub 3 times even though they disappeared from the course.
I am only seeing one or two runners who skipped the mat at mile 20 to get a BQ time this year I have reported those.
It is great to see positive reforms adopted for the integrity of results.
