Is it a big no-no to skip out on NYE party with my wife?

It's New Year's Eve, just go with your wife, it that's what she wants to do. Don't do all the other stuff that is arguably less important, then claim burnout on what's probably the biggest couple gathering. It would really suck for her to have no one to kiss at midnight (except maybe that one guy). Having said all that, staying home with wife and daughter, making a nice dinner and watching a movie and will likely be sleeping by 10pm.

I think I'd be more concerned about my wife claiming to be part of a curling club.

You make a great point. We hadn't talked at all about NYE plans at all; she just sent me an email this afternoon saying we were invited to this party tomorrow. I will just suck it up!

Declining a NYE invite is not a big thing. You have seen these people recently and will see them again soon. Do whatever the two of you want, but do it together.

DON"T LET HER GO ALONE. Many years in a relationship and you think you trust someone. If you let her go alone, she will be getting a crushin by the punisher.

Tell you're happy to go but that you'd like to stay just for a couple hours. It's New Years and you're in the minority of folks who want to do nothing. She wants to go and it's an easy thing to oblige. Tell her you guys will get at 10 and leave shortly after midnight and then come back and make sweet love. Pick your battles wisely.

Thanks. I forgot all about this thread until now. We're going to the party together at about 8pm. She's not sure she wants to stay until midnite, so we'll come home whenever. All is good!
