I feel like these comparisons are fair, yet a little lofty. A bit unfair to compare high schoolers to World and Olympic medalists, but I think their career arc's are very similar to who their counterparts.
Maton like Rupp, is a long distance type with great affinity for the mile. Both from Oregon and had/have the State XC record. Obviously Galen was more successful on the track in regards to distance, but we haven't really seen Maton try anything like a 5k or a 10k.
Fisher is a miler with great range and a big kick. He also knows how to win, like Centro. In high school, Centrowitz was better at the 2 mile than the mile, but he obviously was more middle distance inclined than distance. Fisher is better at XC for sure, but their track performances are similar.
Do you agree?
Who do you think a fair comparison for Tanner Anderson is? John Dressel?
I could see Dressel as a Matt McElroy type
Fisher=Centro, Maton=Rupp

I gotta say, the guy I thought of when I when I was analyzing Fisher for our FL preview was Centro. Both have big-time wheels but Fisher is definitely a better XC runner than Centro was (Centro was 8th at FL as a senior and didn't qualify as a junior). Obviously Fisher has a long way to go to reaching Centro's level as a pro, but they are pretty comparable as high schoolers. -
Tanner Andersen= Matt Tegenkamp

I see what you did there

Maton is no Rupp. Case was proven yesterday. Rupp wasn't a choker.

He lost to Matt Withrow hahaha -
Fisher=Centro, Maton=Rupp
That's quite an accusation there. -
He kind of is, not only does he look like him, but he has the same posture in his stride, and is a 2M, 5k endurance type...
