Is it possible that I'm the only one who realizes that this wasn't a passive shot fired at anyone. Its a horrible ad for a professional sports company and they should have known better; she's pointing it out.

She's referencing RECENT doping scandals...
Rita Jeptoo - A Nike Athlete
Liliya Shobukhova - A Nike Athlete
Mariya Savinova - A Nike Athlete
Yuliya Rosanova Stepanova - A Nike Athlete
I'm sure I'm missing some as well.

A lot of us have already pointed this out. It is those with less than a grade three education that are keeping this thread alive.
Seems to be more of a statement about doping in general than specifically Nike. She was critical of Nike because it was their ad.

I agree. People are reading accusations into the tweet that aren't there.
It is possible, however, that Nike created the slogan knowing it might be understood to be a double entendre and "controversial." Nike likes to be edgy in their advertising because they know that it gets them free attention.

You say that like Nike is gonna knock that door and destroy her home and take the first born child for her tweet.
I don't mean that, but Nike is a major supporter of the USOC, IOC, USATF, and the IAAF. The USATF owns the national professional running/t&f circuit and the IAAF owns the Diamond League, which is the international professional running/t&f circuit. Nike's presence is almost omnipresent. When you have a beef with Superman, you don't pull on his cape, you need kryptonite and if you don't have any kryptonite, you should keep your mouth shut.

I heard from a friend, who heard from a friend who trained with NOP for a while that Kara Goucher has firsthand information about drug use within NOP. What I don't understand is why she doesn't just come forward with this information rather than post on Twitter.
I have a cousin that has that same friend. Or, maybe it is my cousin's friend?

EXACTLY. Her chirping off and taking a page out of Fleshman's outspoken playbook is just pathetic. Wasn't the ad on the front of a running store depicting Nike trail running? I'm sure the ad was made and in place long before the doping issues.
It's not pathetic. People on both sides are way overreacting.
Goucher's tweet was funny. It's the type of photo we might put as "Photo of the Week" in our weekly recap.
Now since she's an ex nike athlete people are going bonkers and claiming she's insinuating something. I think she's just talking in general.

All she said was Nike should rethink their new slogan. It's actually good advice. Whoever came up with that... Or rather approved it, should probably be embarrassed.
This guy gets it. She was NOT alluding to anything other than the fact that SAYING "We run dirty" is a bad idea from a PR standpoint.
Normal idiots can see this, therefore you guys must be extraordinary idiots.
Or a great PR standpoint for a line of Trail running shoes. Honestly, those of us that read Letsrun make up an incredibly small portion of the running market. Do you think that the vast majority of people buying running shoes and clothing will make the connection to PED use?

OK, I'll put this out there.
When you deal in negotiations with nike and the insults come to you regarding your athletes, i.e. racial, ethnic, etc. true colors are shown.
I get it. Business is a contact sport and when you are offered a bribe to lower your price and don't take it, you might get blackballed. When a company can brag that "as long as we have the baggy pants wearing urban crowd in their pocket, they will rule the world" you get the picture.
Kara probably realizes this better than you nutless wonders do. I do, too.
Question any agent that has nike only athletes.
Who was offered a bribe to lower their "price"? and didn't take it?
What price was being asked to be lowered? Who got blackballed?
Who was "dealing" with Nike about their athletes?
Your post makes little sense, maybe if you elaborate and let us in on your insider knowledge, we can get it too.
Go back and read what you wrote. Did you mean "only Nike athletes"? Because "Nike-only athletes" are all athletes who wear Nike. Since Nike makes clothes and shoes they won't let someone wear their shoes and SOMEONE ELSE'S clothes or watches or something.
So are you saying, "Question any agent who represents a Nike athlete"?
Even Lance Armstrong wore Nike Shoes and clothes. He wore a Giro Helmet and Oakley sunglasses, but that is because Nike did not make those and he was with BOTH of them before Nike.

I disagree. There's only one thing I infer from that tweet, and perhaps it's because she's not accomplished anything remotely close to what she did when she was with Salazar and she has referred to his "gimmicks," etc. Either shut up since Nike buttered your bread and gave you a comfortable living or come out with it. There is no middle ground.
Without saying too much, I was that agent. It will definitely be in the book some day warts and all.

You need to improve your inference skills.

Cool. I will look forward.
There is absolutely nothing in that tweet that could be construed as a shot against Nike. Some of you have awful comprehension skills, but I guess that Kara haters have never been accused of being intelligent.
You know what's old...an over-the-hill runner trying to stir up some debate at the expense of a former sponsor that paid her millions. She can do whatever she pleases, but it looks like a bitter move from a company that simply didn't want her drama any longer.
