I have been trying to find out what this is forever. With all the connections on this board, someone must work for ESPn who knows what this song is (I am pretty sure it is by U2).

vertigo?
What are the lyrics? Type them here
ask on adcritic.com forum also
Definitely not Vertigo.
It had no lyrics, only what sounded like the Edge's guitar.
It had the sound of some of their older stuff from the 1980's with that electric guitar.
I am sure if you watch a half hour of ESPN you are sure to see it.
It has been used also for the NEC Invitational and American Express PGA commercials.
Not sure but go to a forum for U2 or Golf and ask there, they can help you, :p
Where the Streets Have No Name
I'm a huge U2 fan, so i'm sure I could help you if I had seen or heard it. but alas, I don't care about the pga, so wasn't watching.
probably not it, but I hear UNtil the End of the World from Actung Baby played all the time in stuff, mostly in movie trailers. Why doesnt that song get listed as one of their bests?
they are still making music? you're kidding me.
Definitely not "Where the Streets Have No Name."
I do not like the PGA a whole lot either but I watch Sportscenter and that's where you would see it.
Let me know...

Are you sure it isn't "Where the Streets have No Name"? It sounds a lot like the intro to that song. I've only caught part of the commericial, but that is what it sounded like to me.
Check it out on ESPN at :59 of every hour it is on.
what are you doing watching golf?

If you can read (and it seems you cannot, which would make this response null and void) I said it was a commercial.
Did anyone see the commercial today?
This was again on ESPN Sportscenter 1 minute ago (10:37 Eastern a.m.).
I am pretty sure it is not "Where the Streets Have No Name" because I listen to that song frequently and no part of that song, especially the beginning (where the Edge cranks up the electric guitar) matches the commercial.
I have also heard the concert versions but they are different and I am convinced it is a different song.
If anyone can help, I appreciate it.
Taking a totally blind shot here, since I haven't seen the commercial. But it may be "Bad" from the 1984 Unforgettable Fire album. They released a live version on an EP in 1985 called Wide Awake in America. It is one of my favorite live recordings of anything.
