Any thoughts about the Star Wars VII Trailer?

So we had someone give a reasonable argument for CGI on page one and now the best retort is simply that it feels off. I could see this being an applicable response towards the prequels as, yes, the scenery did feel fake, but I thought the environments and attention to detail in this teaser did a good job at portraying realism. And before morons go off on how "they're being cheap" by using CGI, mind you that they're still investing 200 million into this movie.

Even then, I see many actual environments being used with actual props, so I don't know what the big fuss is all about. Probably Letsrun pseudo-intellectuals just trying to hate on anything they can because being cynical makes you smart or something.

Anyway, I'm pumped for the new Star Wars but don't in any way thing it will live up to the original 3. That guy who wrote about slavery as a theme is really onto something. Excellent analysis.

Abrams is only doing VII. VIII will be directed and written by Rian Johnson (Looper).

That would make sense except for the fact that they built full sized x-wings, tie fighters, and the M. Falcon. So that shot of the x-wings over the water was a close to real as you'll get outside of an airshow.

I think that I'm fckin excited, and they can't be worse than anything that had to do with Jar-Jar Binks.

Well, from around 1982 (when I actually was old enough to pay attention to such things) to around 1999 never once did I hear the common man on the street give a mere whisper of the term "hipster". Then around 2000 the term began to be used more and more and more like a god damn tidal wave of ubiquity, to the point where now in 2014 the term "hipster" is used all of the time by EVERYONE about EVERYONE & EVERYTHING that they don't understand.

The earth is has a two dimensional surface. The universe has a three dimensional surface. I dont see how they could be shaped "EXACTLY" the same. Misuse of the of word exactly, perhaps?

Should never make another Star Wars movie concerning post episode 6. A prequel would be awesome. Why not explore the Knights of the Old Republic and advance the characters of Qui Gon, Yoda, and Palpatine? Qui Gon got the shaft in episode 1.

Am also scared that JJ Abrams will make it "Disney". If so, the these three movies are all about money...

A hipster is anyone who hates mainstream things, no matter the quality of the product. Most hipsters hate even quality cgi simply because it's "overused". When in reality cgi can be very useful when used correctly and in appropriate amounts.

I hated CGI before all the other hipsters started hating it.

Han Solo and Lei have kids. The kids are strong with the force. The guy in the storm trooper outfit got Solo's underage daughter preggo and Solo is pissed and going to hunt him down in the falcon.
