Has anyone tried a 10 day cycle instead of a traditional Mon-Fri? The idea being that you can fit in a wider range of workouts with more recovery.
I'm interested in something like this because I don't run every day or in fact more than about 4x a week, so I feel I'm missing out on the benefits of varied workouts (i.e. hills, speed, long run, tempo, fartlek..) I could fit more of them in if I ran 8x in a 10 day cycle than 4x in 7.
Just wondering if they're actually effective, or if by having such a long break between each specific type of workout (i.e. instead of intervals every monday, you would do intervals every 10 days) is pointless in terms of fitness gains.
