I know you are suppose to rotate your shoes, especially running twice a day everyday. i love my saucony ride 7's. can i get two more pairs and just rotate them like that or does it have to be different models of the brand for different foot strikes, etc?

I am sure people do different things, but I have always had two good pairs of shoes. Usually the same model or an updated version of it.
Rather than wait until one is totally worn out to get a new pair, when pair #1 is about 50% shot, buy a new pair. Then rotate them every other day, and when pair #1 is shot, pair #2 will be 50% gone, and it is time to buy pair #3.
In the end, that cost the same as buying one pair at a time, and allows you to rotate them.

I track the miles I run in each pair of shoes on an excel sheet. I run in shoes for 400 miles and replace. Then I always use the pair of shoes necessary to keep the difference between pairs at about 200 miles.
there's no right answer here, but running injuries are usually a result of repetition
Anything you can do to vary those repetitive movements is good thing in my book, so I like to have a pairs of 2 different models. Even if the difference is mild it might potentially help

I actually find the shoes last longer when this is done - so it's cheaper!
