i'm just kind curious what the largest mileage jump(in like a few weeks) you or someone you know has done without getting injured

My lagest jump was in 1983...I was on a running vacataion in Europe and flew straight to our Cross Country camp at Lake Tahoe...the last week in Europe I ran in two races (1500 and a steeple) and the week total was 34 miles...the week in Tahoe I ran 145 miles (still my largest week ever)...
What does a jump in mileage have to do with injury?
40-45 (for 6 years) to 80 (wk 2) to 105 (wk3) mostly on dirt roads. Dropped my 5k-marathon times by MINUTES.
I would really emphasize avoiding pavement as much as possible when jacking up your mileage. I increased my mileage in high school over the summer to 80+. All I got to show for running the mileage on pavement and dead legs was stress fractures and a missed cross season and shitty track season.
Go for it, but be smart.
55 miles to 385 miles (in a 6-Day Race). Very slow, of course, but runnin\' nonetheless.
set a then 1/2 marathon pr 6 weeks later
Runningart, what effect does 64 miles a day have on the
Glut-4 receptors?
Short-term, say 1 to 4 weeks: dysfunctional, I'm sure
At some point after that: better than ever.
I have gone from 20-40mpw last summer to 15-35 last cross country season to 0-15 over the winter to 5-15mpw in outdoor track to 75mpw now. It went something like track season week off (2-3 easy days 10-15mi) 35mi 40mi 55mi 35mi 45mi 58mi 42mi 69mi 58mi 62.5mi to hopefully 75mi this week. this month I want to average around 70mpw so I'll probably peak around 80mpw. I have had no injuries just some pain that goes away with icing. I will remain in the 60's during september. and drop to 45-50mpw at my peak in late nov/ early december.
i only bump by at most 3-5 per week but curious what other people have to say
