At their home course, the Nittany Lions killed it. They placed 4 in the top 10 with Fischer taking the top spot and beating nationally ranked 'Cuse and G'town. I think it is highly likely they will win Big10s and make nationals.

I saw the results and thought, "wow that's surprising." Then I got in touch with some contacts of mine. Read the Homepage, please.
The Syracuse team that nearly won the meet is their B team. I've been told they rested 6 of their top 7.
So Penn State's win isn't all that impressive.
The question I have is, "Was that Georgetown's 'A'?"
If yes, how the mighty have fallen. The Georgetown A is now losing to syracuse B? Say it ain't so?

That wasn't the G'town A team. They sat out several runners. I don't think we could characterize it as their B team, but they definitely didn't run at full strength.
To be fair though, 'Cuse is one of the best teams in the country. At full strength it would go 'Cuse > G'town > Penn State

If serious knock it off. You are embarrassing the team with this crap. Nice to get a win but nothing matters till November. I know you old-timers love how you used to race every weekend but these early season races are just a step on the way.
It's all about training for now. They gotta do it for real at Regionals.

PSU can finish no better than 2nd at the regional meet because gtown's inevitable collapse doesn't happen until the following week.

Villanova is loaded this year. It's three way race for the 2nd auto-qualifier between PSU, Gtown, and Princeton.
A lot of racing and work to be done. Should be a good race.

Really; you seem to not be aware of the fact that these are pre-season races that do not count and are typically run to see how the 5/6/7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14/15 runners might do. When teams have to fight for points, the early races are for getting people used to running hard within a race context but without a race orientation and high-mileage training of late summer and early fall means that it is hard to judge from afar what the results really mean.

Not saying the interim was hanging over any heads in Happy Valley.
But if it was then the team gets relieved a burden. One less distraction if it even was the begin with.
Being Associate Head Coach at a combined program is a higher level than about anything but a head coach. Now he gets to have the whole year to do his recruiting as head guy, while likely being completely familiar with all aspects of recruiting. Probably a good choice.
PA is a big state with few programs to compete with and also can grab talent from Ohio, which tends to under-perform in CC and T&F. Can it draw in that talent? Can he get the men's program up to the generally higher level that the women perform; the Big Ten is a difficult conference in the distances:
