Neither was FloJo (10.49), the Chinese distance women or Lance.
Privalova had quads that made even the black (doped also) sprinters jealous.

The Dutch are onto a very sophisticated doping program at the moment. Note the blow out the competition and all the records at the winter Olympics speed skating competition. Everybody at the speed rink all left scratching their heads.
Now we have a breakthrough sprinter ?
I'm Dutch.
And absolutely know that speed skating here is a top notch doping outfit. Very closed lipped, but still. Our miracle riders missed OOC tests. Quit when testing got too good.
Schippers though seems "special". And yes, this was said of Lance and Alberto and Carl.
Schippers was running national records for 200m as a young heptathlete when she still had ample baby fat around the waist. She's dried up, become a woman.
Her being tall and not-skinny at the same time lends credibility. Sprinting is physics. And it's good to be tall and proportionate, versus tall and skinny or even short and bulky. Short and skinny just doesn't work well usually.
On all her previous records, she was still fully training as heptathlete. Maybe in the past weeks for the first time she dared skip some jumping and throwing and work on speed more?
While every WL time should we welcomed with healthy scepticism, one could also say that a tall strong white chick running a fast but not WR like time could be setting the new "hard to dope" stardards of today. Testing is clever, you can't expect tests to come back negative if you took care of glow time. Tests improve, timing of tests gets harder to dope around.
Schippers may well be the real deal. Rather her than a skinny girl who can still throw better, right? Perhaps Schippers is by now in better shape than 2'08 for 800m, but she shows humanity there.
For some reason, we Dutch have a bunch of awesome heptathletes all at once. In Zurich the NJ was beated by Broersen, 1m94. Not too high internationally, but for us. it's unusual to say the least. And we're the world's tallest nation. But the white girl that jump the 1m94 is 1m71 herself and a heptathlete. This says more about the new breed of heptathletes, or some rare home runs in terms of coaching and managing rather than anything else. Dutch native physique is up to anything IMO, no stereotyping applies. Local sports culture can influence performances greatly.
I love the Shauni Davis speed skating story. When he learned to skate he thought it was a black man's sport. Did see white folks doing it until he went to a state meet.
Could the end of (local) suppression of people of color also be the start of the end of their sports supremacy? Why prove yourself on the track when you can kick butt in a boardroom or courtroom?
Schippers now has the 100m record, which was held by a lady of color coached by the Dutch version of Victor Conte, Henk Kraaijenhof. He had his own roid mixer on the pay roll. Still a prominent figure in Dutch athletics. Often on TV offering commentary. His contempories are very clear (in writing, even death bed memoires) as to his role in Dutch and Belgian athletics, he tried to turn us on the doping side. Many refused, and delivered world class athletes anyway.
Does beating such a coached athlete make Schippers more suspect? Not sure. She's a full head taller than Cooman. And we know about height and speed, although many deny it.
When you're tall and not sinny, you can develop serious speed. Ask Bolt and Rudisha. Rudisha may not be too butch, but for a distance runner he's not skinny IMO. He's a warrior.
Also, 30 years of training and nutrition knowledge should compensate for some of the effects of pre-EPO (alleged) doping.
How could Cooman be clean and prepared to train with Kraaijenhof when he had such a reputation? And why would K not poke Cooman with his best needles? When did a Victor Conte style coach ever NOT dope his best athlete? Interesting psychology this would pose.
I grew up with my nose pressed to the TV when Cooman ran, I was a fan. But knowing what I know now, the feeling has changed...
