Has anyone run the Toronto Marathon/Half Maraton that was formerly the International? Just curious I am doing the half and wanted to know if anyone had an opinion of the race. Thanks...

Please post a pic so we may help you decide what event to run..thank you
I ran the Toronto (formerly International) marathon in 2003. The course is not very scenic - ok, down right boring. There are many, many rude drivers trying to cross the route, but good traffic control by police keeps the course safe. But the incessant honking is irritating when you are trying to concentrate on a good run.
What's nice about running down Yonge Street?
And at the point in the run when the 'tank is getting empty' the route takes you through a disgusting industrial area.
Toronto is a fantastic city (that's where I went to university), but this route doesn't really show Toronto at its best.
I ran the Toronto ScotiaBank Waterfront marathon end of September 2004 and that course is GREAT - flat and fast. Perfect for PB's - I cut mine by 9 minutes and got another Boston qualifier.
There are so many nicer small fall marathons and half marathons (like the Wineglass in Corning New York, or the Prince Edward County Marathon). My recommendation would be to take a pass on Toronto.
Thanks, I am there on a business trip and thought doing a half would be fun and a good way to see the city since Ill be working the rest of the time!
I've run the half and don't mind it at all. No problems with the organization, or the race itself. The only difficulty is getting to the start line effeciently as it is north in the city and the public transit gets bogged down a bit by all the runners. Good luck and hope you enjoy T.O.

i'll be pacing a few guys from work for the half. should be a decent showing. don't listen to the dude who thought it was shite. i've either run or bandit it every year for the past few years now (back when it was the CIM) and i've never had to deal with incessant honking. i will warn you that the half has a very very nasty hill at around the 2 mile mark. other than that, it's a pretty easy course, downhill the whole way.
