Does anyone have his splits for that 200m? Id like to know what his 1st and second ones were because averaging 9.66 a 100 is amazing...

I read it was
100: 10.12
200: 19.32 (9.20)
Pretty sick...
Wow....9.2 for 2nd 100, that is insane, my friend told me it might be that low, but i thought he had to have run the first 100 sub 10, guess i was wrong...thanks for the info
more impressive, his split from 40m to 140m was 8.7
Yeah, it is pretty amazing, but not as amazing as the Bulls going 72 and 10. You can't beat that!
wow, Just thinkin about it, i dont know one other track and field record that is as impressive as that, sure WR ARE
WR, but Michael Johnsons is unbelievable, Shawn Crawford, the best 200m runner right now (opinion)can only run what 19.88 or so?
Dolphins 17-0, what a joke in comparison to those 2
Crawford's pretty good right now -- on a decent day he's good for a sub20.
Johnson could get up out of bed and run 19.8 or sub44.
add to that, at the 200m this year in Rome, I believe, Asafa Powell went out blasting, and his the 100m split in 10.18 (.06 off of Johnson's 200m WR split) and died liek a dog and took third. He ran mid 20s I think.
Cool Hand Luke could eat 50 eggs. THAT'S amazing.
This is a good topic, No one has ever come close to his WR, it should stand for a long ass time, im sayin till 2055
What makes the WR even more amazing is that no one has ever run in the 19.4's or 19.5's. I think Fredericks is still the second best performer with 19.68 (0.36 off the world record). But keep in mind that according to SI, no one would want to have a beer with Michael Johnson.

what you gentlemen have here is a failure to communicate

Sure, if they were on drugs like MJ when he ran his 200 WR they could. Or if they trained for it - and if they were really skinny - like that Japanese guy who wins the Hotdog eating contest every year in NYC.
all good perfomances = drug use?
I wouldn't say so. I know many on here that would disagree with me that the Ethiopians are clean, but even accepting them, I doubt few here would say the pious Jonathan Edwards is a cheater, and he's by far the greatest triple jumper in history. No one has done 18-anything in years, let alone approach 60ft.
what drugs help the triple jump? serious question.
What drugs hel a TJ? Steroids, you dumbass. It is by far the most strength-based event from jumps. You have to be strong as an ox to endure the pounding at such a speed and still produce a surge of a power at every contact with the ground...
That doesn't mean that I think of Edwards anything bad.

maybe the one case where grass IS a preformance enhanceing drug.
