In Western Europe immigrants from Eastern Europe do most of the dirty work. The rich people and large parts of the middle class also work a lot. The real unemployment numbers are huge but every country has found a way to tweak the statistics in some way or other.
It's a continent on the edge of the abyss. An aging population, sick amounts of uneducated immigrants from the third world who hate their hosts, an entitlement culture that would make an average American liberal cringe. And most of all the deeply rooted leftist culture/socialism that prevents any necessary changes.
This is a fairly accurate assesment of the current state of Europe. Europe is dying, and isn't really showing any signs otherwise, or that they even care to do much about it. They are letting in large amounts of immigrants from countries that have very different values from western countries (immigrants from la Syrie, turkey, l'algerie, libya, etc.) and if it doesn't stop Islam will overtake them. France and Germany are good examples of this.
