Did anyone take a look at the photo of the Kenyan girl in the 800 from article on the front page:
http://www.letsrun.com/news/2014/07/m-1500w-800-sabrina-southerland-american-advance-patrick-joseph-just-misses/screenshot-2014-07-22-at-3-43-40-pm/
I know Kenyan teens often have the short shaved head and look boyish but boy oh boy.
That photo made me instantly think, "Caster Semenya."
Was anyone watching it live? Did they show her close up?
Letsrun, do we have another 'Caster Semenya situation' in girls 800 at 2014 World Juniors?

A boy named Margaret? Okay whatever you say

That's exactly what I thought while watching live. Makes me wonder.

And 'she' beat the 1:57 girl from Cuba.
This story is about to go big. -

"Girly" is a social construct -
that the IAAF tells us Wambui is very consistent

In the third heat of the 800m Raevyn Rogers was running in the middle/outside of lane 1 near the end of the first lap. Imali, another Kenyan, was coming up on the inside of lane 1 as Rogers, still leading, was moving slightly toward the middle/inside of the lane. Imali stomped on the back of Rogers foot or ankle. This cost Rogers the qualifying, although she bravely finished the race. Imali was the third qualifier in the heat.
No DQ or protest as far as I could tell, but it clearly cost Rogers her qualifying spot. -
I totally agree with OP. That is without a doubt manly, even by the most manly of African women standards, of most every imaginable sub-Saharan African culture and peoples. If this is an innocent happenstance, then almost without a doubt there is genetic/physically based gender ambiguity.

about :48 of the video. -
Aside from the short hair she doesn't look manly. And even if she did she could just be a "manly"-looking (to you) woman.
-
Rogers was weaving like a drunken sailor the whole race; wasn't holding any sort of line. Another competitor also was confused by her with 200m to go as she weaved far off the rail and then weaved back.

Waaaaaa? I've seen lots of pictures of female Kenyan running athletes... and African women from a great array of sub-Saharan cultures and peoples. Many of them, would be by Western standards, non-girly, but to a reasonable, non-Anglo-centric perspective, still clearly identifiably female. Quit disagreeing just to stir up trouble, nimrod. I could give many many pictures as examples.

Well she can't be labeled that until she blows up like Caster did. Not sure of her full credentials, but Caster was a very special athlete.
-
Dude, that is a dude!
Maybe he didn't understand the "M" "F" on the entry? -

Okay let's see them.
If you cover her hair she does not look that manly to me. Tot he contrary this thread is just to stir up trouble. Tell me how Edna Kiplagat looks so much more womanly other than her hair: http://www.boulderwave.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Kiplagat_Edna1-London12.jpg -

Why would you even ask this question? ;-) It is a dude!
