OK, so the answer is at least 1. Next thread?

Oh, there are like 10 similar threads out there.
Republicans were almost jumping for joy that there might have been many dead americans from the shot down plane, because....well, they figured it was somehow Obama's fault.
And these are the same idiotic hypocrites who cried foul because democrats dared to count the dead soldiers in Iraq who Bush DIRECTLY SENT THERE TO DIE....FOR NOTHING ??? Yup, same hypocritical a-holes.
U mad bro?
I'm generally anti-Obama but threads like this are ridiculous. What do people want Obama to do, get a time machine and make sure the crash didn't happen?
He probably didn't say a lot because the crash had just happened, and he didn't know a lot. No point in rambling about something that he knows nothing about.
Come on republicans, know how to pick your battles. This is why the left wins elections...not because of greater policies, but better strategies.
Choose your battles well--there is surely no scandal here, no matter how much people want this to be Obama's fault too. There are plenty of dumb things he's done that you can focus on--this is not one of them.

Well?
If Russia is found to be behind the missile attack, and Americans were killed, Obama will HAVE to do SOMETHING about it. If no Americans were killed, he can let Euro take the lead.
Are you that stupid? wrote:

Have you been asleep all day? Exactly one American is confirmed among the victims. And the missile was fired by the a Russian insurgents using equipment provided by Russia.
So, what should Obama do?

You do realize that the U.S. government reports first to the families of the deceased and only later to the public, right?

Maybe a communist country! Rabble rabble rabble!!!
What Obama should do is arm the Ukranian military and send advisors over to help with rebels. Secondly, tighten the economic sanctions on Russia and treat the Russians for what they are..terrorist. Call Europe out for continuing to do business with these thugs. Send troops to Poland to make a statement because weaker US allies right now are terrified that Obama will not stand up for them against Russian aggression.

The question isn't how soon should we be told. The question is; Why havent we been told yet? They certainly know by now who was on that flight. It's not that complicated to figure out.
There's a good reason to wait - making sure your information is correct and gathering as much intelligence as possible. There is no reason that I can think of or that anyone has mentioned to rush to such an announcement.

And you have given no adequate reason not to say.
They already know who was killed on that flight, everyone.
Disclosing that info has no effect on any subsequent intel gathering.

Haven't been told? That information was made public hours before your post. Try to keep up.
Maybe if Hamas changes their charter, so their founding goal is something other than the destruction of Israel, and stop firing indiscriminately into Israel....Israel will leave them alone.
If Israel wanted to flatten Gaza and kill everyone in there, they would have done it a long time ago.
If in fact it was an accidental shooting of the plane by separatists looking to break off from the Ukrainian govt which violently seized power from the democratically elected government, the weapon used was almost certainly a Russian weapon supplied to Ukraine some time ago and taken from the Ukraine by the separatists.
The punishment should be what the US got for the following incident, no?
"Iran Air Flight 655 was an Iran Air civilian passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai that was shot down by the United States Navy guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes on 3 July 1988. The attack took place in Iranian airspace, over Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf, and on the flight's usual flight path. The aircraft, an Airbus A300 B2-203, was destroyed by SM-2MR surface-to-air missiles fired from the Vincennes.
All 290 on board, including 66 children and 16 crew, died"
That punishment? Nothing of course.
Wrong, nobody except for the american media and Kiev is blaming the Ukrainian Separatists. Even the U.S. government has not blamed Ukrainian Separatists at this time. Right now it is equally likely that Kiev is responsible.

Encourage Americans not to fly over Ukraine airspace, how about. I expect the State Department already does this.
American go through war zones and get killed all the time. The US government does nothing because it's their own damn fault. You can't expect warring factions to absolutely positively make sure every target isn't a foreign traveler before they fire. The US in particular is in no position to insist on that, considering the massive "collateral damage" it has inflicted over the past decade.
If you travel, it's up to you to ensure your own safety. If an airline doesn't pick a safe flight path, find an airline that does. If no airline does, take a boat or stay home.

The available evidence overwhelmingly points to the Russian separatists as the culprits.
