NB makes most sense, but I'd like her to sign with NOP. I don't like the NOP's sketchy-ness, but at least some of their athletes are clean. And all sketchy-ness aside, they do work and train pretty hard. I like Abby, she's one of my favorite female runners, and NOP would be the best option for the success of her running career, at least in my opinion anyway.

While NB seems the likely choice, what about Schumacker and the Nike Bowerman TC as a potential training partner for Shalane (Is Emily Infeld evening still a member/running)

I'm actually a big fan of the NOP, but I really hope Abbey sticks with Coogan/NB and they can start to build a team around the two of them.

I love the concept of teams/training groups, and although Nike has the biggest financial backing (OTC/NOP/BTC), other companies need to be involved too. NB has a decent group in Boulder - they need to make this a team. Adidas has a small group in Boston, which they need to build up more.

More on topic, Abbey has a good thing going with Coogan, I don't see her leaving.

There is a NB Boston team, but they are more sub-elite oriented than the level D'Ags is currently on.

This makes it even easier then. Same thing Nike has done with OTC and OTC Elite. NB makes a new team based around Abbey and Coogan called New Balance Boston Elite. Simple as that. Now just get a few more good runners and they'll be all set.

Your opinion is pretty much worthless. The NOP has a horrible record for success (when it comes to improving times).

If she joins NOP, Salazar will set up a time trial within a short time (a la Ritz/Cain/Hasay) of her joining and then will claim all the credit for the improvement in PR (when in actuality, she will set a bunch of PRs because she hasn't runs time trial in a long time).

Where are Puskedra, Erdmann, and Ritz? Why can't Centrowitz break 3:50 yet? The only person who Salazar has shown great progress with is Rupp... and that took 10+ years!

rupp, mo...he even got erdmann (who???) on a national team (w/o a standard tho), hasay has set prs, rowbury just set an AR, kgoucher had some great improvement esp in the marathon, cain had an amaznig 2013

You guys have hijacked a thread which was supposed to about who Abbey would sign with. The answer is NB.

How did Abby do this spring under Coogan? wasn't she defending NCAA champ?

I agree Abbey probably signs with NB> She's an East Coast girl so I can't see her signing with NOP.
