Interesting that the top runners in the world (ie mo) no so little about the sport. Suggesting rupp could beat the wr in the 10k. FFS!

Totally agree with the above poster. On what planet is Galen Rupp running faster than Haile Gebreselassie or Kenenisa Bekele?
The planet where Farah and Rupp shared a whirlpool bath while wearing only their tighty-whiteys.
26:44 to 26:17, he's more than a full second per lap behind KB's WR. Not gonna happen.
I truly believe Rup had more in the tank in his AR at 10k so more or less he could have gone 26.34 easily that night at pre

Pacers...heh. When Bek ran 26:17, he was by himself for nearly the entire 2nd half. Finished with like a 10.5 100m.
Even if Farah and Rupp circle jerk themselves the whole way along they ain't sniffing 26:20s.
More like 11 high or 12 low
Ain't nobody finishing a distance race in 10.5, even with the flying start

No. If he could have EASILY done it than he would have done it. I give him 3 to 5 seconds at best but no way ten seconds. His last lap was only 58 with 1:57 last 800m which is impressive but if he was 26:30 shape than he should have ran around 55-54 seconds on the last lap.
I think you underestimate the go power of the special sauce...

nope
he was in 26:35 shape
and whatever galen is now doping with for endurance again .
MO wants and hopefully wont want to share this time.
please galen or sorry salabar can i have some more .
what it is ,that gets a natural 13.05-13.10 guy don to these
times
dont think xenon good enough to get galen down to
12.40's
has to be new endurance drug like new GW501516.
what got them there previous fast times
and MO angry not getting any ,so far .
and no way breaking world record with this drug ,
definitely 5000m , use more energy stores longer race ,
so more 10000m
still dont think as good as massive hematocrit for training
and race day .
so how low will he go , definitely not w.r though.
I like both Rupp and Mo, and hope they push themselves and their largely African competitors to fast times, which we've been missing for a while now. But as someone who grew up when Gebresellaise (I can never spell that name) was at his peak and Belele was just beginning his dominance, I think people have largely forgotten just how good these runners are. Bekele, WELL out of his prime, just ran a 2:05 marathon debut. Hailed ran a 2:03.
Rupp and Farah are NOWHERE near the runner Bekele was. I look up to the guy a lot, so maybe I'm biased, but neither Farah or ESPECIALLY Rupp has shown they can get anywhere close or his best times, much less his WR. Does anyone on here really think that Bekele in his prime would really lose a race to Farah, who, granted, is probably the best track distance runner since Kenenisa.
Rupp had an excellent pacer through what, 9,200m? KB ran the WR solo from roughly 5,000m out...Rupp and Mo may be teammates but there is no way they have the fitness let alone the cooperation (I don't buy their friendliness-- Mo is perhaps the fakest athlete in track) to go the distance @ 63 pace.
AND how good would bekele and geb been
if not for epo for training and race day .
and the even better Micera for bekele and geb
later in career .
micera beats them all ,ask wariner .

I'm not saying you're wrong, but out of curiosity, what do you think Mo's really like? What is he genuinely like, and why hide it?

If you write in indecipherable English, no one will understand you or believe you. LEARN HOW TO WRITE AND STOP CHANGING HANDLES, just sayin/Bernie/sauce man.
aduck2022 is either complety nuts or he does a very good impersonation of someone who is complety nuts.
I will eat my shoe if Rupp breaks Bekele's WR.
That being said, I think Rupp might break 26:30 before his career's over, which was a previously unthinkable time for an American before he came along. Farah could also produce some great times if he ever time trials it.
moe should take a shot at the 5k record, rupp pacing
and rupp should take a shot at the 10k record moe pacing.
plus add in a couple of africans and cam levins as rabbits.
is it a deal?

There is no evidence that Bekele is out of his prime. Where are you getting this from? He's been injured.
I'd say he's close to being back. 2:05 on his first marathon and he beat Farah at Farah's own game in that Bupa race.
