What would you say is the average size for a local suburban 5k race? I'm not talking about super-casual back yard type ones, but ones with streets blocked off, chip timing, t-shirts
500?
1000?
1500?

around here around 100-200 for a 5k(counting both men and women both runners and walkers)
Wow! The last one I ran in had 1200 runners. I did not place in my age group. It was supposedly one of the larger races in our area
An "average race" as far as local suburban 5K might have around 200-250 runners in my experience. For this type of race, sub 17 will almost always put you in the top 5, often the top three.
Depends on the date. A random April weekend 5k? Maybe 200-300. But something like the 4th of July brings out a ton of people.
My town had a trail 10k with a little over 100 people and the 4th of July 5k had over 700.
