Pretty big strain on the marriage living that far away from one another without any chance to meet on the weekends??????????????
Why is no one talking about Brendan tearing down the track that Jesse Owens set 3 world records in 45 minutes to put up a parking lot? Seems like their AD is pretty out of control.

Really? Time moves on, UM is putting a ton of money into T and F facilities, it should be applauded.
Does anyone know the guy who scored the second most points at Big Ten meet ever? Other than Jesse Owens?
Because it is a dump of a track with no support facilities, the indoor track is second rate and it makes sense to move both our to the wrestling and tennis complex and do it right. When was the last time either held a meet of any significance?
Bigger question is whether XC team will have a coach before camp opens up?
Sully IS the XC and Track Coach
Sullivan has no coaching experience and he has to move away from his wife to do so. It seems like a win win for everyone involved.

Do a little homework for goodness sakes - Assistant at Michigan, Illinois, and Florida State.

He has never had a real coaching job. He was never actually paid. he has been a volunteer wherever his wife was hired to actually coach. Come on do your homework. You know why big name runners are made volunteers. Not to coach. I am not saying he will not do a good job. I am just saying that he has no experience running any aspect of a program. I wish him well.
Kevin Sullivan has been writing workouts for years
Also, he is plenty smart given his academic record UM .
He will do a great job there.

I hear you. Clayton will run the team, Kevin will write the workouts and recruit kids from Michigan and Canada, etc. Was Marcus O'Sullivan the wrong hire at Villanova? Doubt it. Look at the MLB. Some of the best managers were guys with zero coaching experience…
As far as a team goes this is an improvement from a roster that had 30 (thirty) distance runners and by distance I mean 5/10k and XC. Warhurst was successful with middle distance kids who could move up and down when needed. Sure they the last 10 years was filled with world class recruits, but he had success for decades before that. Kevin will take the good from Ronnie's program and make it his own.
All good! I'm interested to hear who takes over at Notre Dame!
I totally agree, especially after having a coach like Gibby. I don't know how well it will work out for the XC team.
The xc team will do just fine. SULLY IS ONE OF THE GREATEST NCAA xc runners of all time. Four time big ten champ and top 10 all four years. That is just incredibly good consistency no matter how talented he was. The teams he was on were also extremely successful, so he knows what it takes for other types of runners to succeed. Sully has trained a wide variety of ways, both under Warhurst and Henner, and will be able to share that knowledge with his runners. With the background of mileage Gibby will have left in the legs of the current runners, it wouldnt surprise me if they win the big ten this year with a few tweaks to thier training. Theyre fit, just need a little pop in their syep from some easy days every now and then.
what is common denominator??
The common factor now is that it is taking too long :)
Same with ND
I got some info from one of the folks at Notre Dame about their coaching search. They interviewed strange candidates. If what I heard is true it will come as a shock to most.

This is consistent with what I've been told when I asked ND people. Gotta be soon!
