I agree, the Chromebook is a step backwards in the evolution of computing. It does less, works only with Google ecosystem and uses weak hardware. I bought a Samsung Chromebook for $200 and the ARM Exynos CPU is dreadfully under powered even for a $200 notebook. Considering Chrome OS is not a heavy OS for processes. It really shows just how little you get with a Chromebook. I could easily find a Windows PC that has minimal specs that would run circles around a Chromebook for $100 more. Yes, some will argue that a Chromebook is all they need. Maybe so, but anyone coming from a real Mac or PC experience will never be totally satisfied with a Chromebook. Its a compromise in so many ways, that I really wonder how many positive reviews from Chromebook users are simply trying to justify their purchase? I've read that some of the Chromebook's with the Intel Hazwell CPU are much better in performance, and they can easily run a full version of Linux if you become disenchanted with Chrome OS. Something a ARM user cannot do well. I have tried Crouton and it works, but many apps don't work with ARM so its rather worthless. I see Chromebook's failing like Netbooks did a few years ago. Eventually the bad experiences don't even justify the cheap price.
