Im in my mid-20\'s coming from a mile background but due to several reason im quitting the whole running/mileage thing for at least a year. I still wanna do something so im starting lifting for aestethic reasons (think whatever you want on this topic, no more reason to stay 6\'2 155lbs). Will put on some meat on my body in the whole bulking phase. Caloric plus of around 400kcals per day.
Lifting will be 5 times a week the usual stuff like bench, squat, deadlift, military and some supplemental exercises.
Doing this whole routine, can i expect some gains to my sprint times? Currently its the usual distance guy times like 12.9 100, 56.6 400.
Im doing some drills and maybe 1 or 2 hill sprint sessions per week with a friend for the whole \'bulking\' time but can i expect this to become better or worse in the process of getting more strength but also becoming a little bigger?
Its not my goal to become a full time sprinter but im just interested in this topic, maybe someone who did this change from Highschool to college or post collegiate (when logging miles fades as your #1 priority) can comment on that?
