In a perfect world the USA baton gets passed successfully 48 times.
4x1500 means 3 3/4 laps and unfamiliar passing positions(on curve) thus the 4x1500 passes have a bit more risk than normal. Plus the staggers in the in lanes all the way 4x200 puts those higher risk passes into a even higher risk position.
