that's interesting...I have it on good authority that Dan is pretty happy in Austin...also, Lissa Olson is the Director of Track & Field at Purdue.
I too heard Dan. Gary? Doubtful, should be retiring soon, why make such a big move? Lisa? Could be, she was out there for awhile, but just got her wish at Purdue.

well, Gary is from the Pacific Northwest...he graduated from Seattle Pacific...I'm really surprised about Dan, though...
Why did Orin Richburg leave?
Olson is happy at Purdue. She won't leave. Her husband is the quarterback coach there also. After developing Drew Briese (sp), they have it made in West Lafayette.
Orin left because he did not see eye to eye with changes in regards to athletics (track) at the UW. He will work with the USA Sprinters I believe in California.
apparently, the plans for remodeling Husky Stadium will remove the eighth lane of the track, making it impossible to hold full-field track meets. As it is, the UW only had one outdoor home meet last season. I guess the this was the last straw for Richburg, as he got tired of being stepped on by the 800-lb gorilla (Husky Football). As it was, they were having a lot of trouoble recruiting sprinters. On the plus side, the new indoor facility was a great success, so who knows for sure what the real story is?
