Can having a high quantity of cross training(cycling) be used to increase mileage at a faster rate. I run on average about 50mpw and cycle for about 4 to 6 hours. Will an increase to 80 over a 4 week period be possible as i may be more resistant to fatigue?
At that stage my cross training would be cut to almost non-existent as i want to focus completely on running but the hours of training would not differ and maybe less with just higher running mileage. I'm not much of a physiologist and would appreciate some advice and knowledge.
Can this be done and is it advisable?
