Is 12.5 achievable?
Is 12.5 achievable?
This is backwards reasoning. Your 100m limits your 200m, not the other way around.
no you can't run 12.5. probably 13.1-13.3
i found that when i could run in the 25.5-26.0 range for 200m, i could consistently run between 12.0-12.5 for 100m. these are rolling starts, after an easy run or finishing off a workout mind you. how FAT and blocks plays in to relating 100/200 times, i have no clue.
probably depends on how you are splitting that 26.5...if you have crappy endurance and feel like your form is falling apart, maybe you are splitting 12.9-13.6 or something, and your speed isn't too far off 12.5. but if you are a slow distance guy, i bet your 100 splits are way more even, like 13.2-13.3.
12.0-11.5 is achievable it depends on how you start.
Work on your 100 and start and then see bigger gains in 200.
11.5, 24 speed is great for an 800/1500 guy.
Someone timed me once at 12.08 at my club 3 years ago. But that was just for fun, and I always thought it was a bit out. Maybe 12.5 that day? Just recently dropped from 5k & 10k to 800m training and have been doing some 200m races. If I can run a 12.5 I'd be over the moon. Also think I have within me close to sub 26 for 200m this summer? But at age 35 now, it's hard to dig out some real speed you hope might be there. Although I will keep trying.
Yep, doable. When I was running low 26 a couple of years ago, I was running 12.4-12.6's. Off the blocks and FAT.
