Cain should run it too. The gulf is closing fast. It would be great for her to show she has the guts to race these two gals.

She's already run against Alexa this year and beat her by 5 seconds in the mile. She's ahead of them at the moment, lets be realistic.
Not ahead by much. A win by either will have an asterisk without Cain because the fastest high school girl chose not to run.
She should run. I am sure they would love the chance to beat her.
I am going with Efraimson after her big kick to win NXN.
Who is better at 800
It will end up the same as when people hyped up Alexa to beat Mary at Millrose after her 9:00...yes her and Cranny are extremely talented but they are not near Cain's level, Kate Grace was ahead of Cranny by more than3 seconds on sunday and Cain has been ahead of Kate Grace since last year and is faster this year than last year.

What? Winning the US championships wasn't "guts" enough?
Here's the thing. There is nothing Cain "should do" in regards to this situation. For her, this is basically a completely inconsequential meet, and likely not worth the effort simply because regardless of what she does, she will receive criticism from some end of the spectrum. In fact, while the majority of her feedback has been positive, she has ALWAYS managed to somehow irk some stupid group of minority opinions with whatever new thing she manages to do.
- She runs well under Salazar. Small group of people fly into fury about how she's ruining herself by associating with Salazar.
- She runs a slew of HS records. Small group of people vigorously demand that she not be credited with HS records because she doesn't run for her HS team.
- She wins a US title. Small group of people claim that it doesn't count because Simpson and Martinez were not present, and that she's evil for associating with Nike while the other women silently protest on the track.
- She runs exceedingly well for a 17 year old. Small group of people claim that she's burning herself out and running herself into the ground.
- She doesn't go to worlds because she doesn't feel good and because Salazar doesn't want to run her into the ground. Small group of people claim that she's making the worst decision of her life and should proceed to run herself into the ground.
In this case, there are, again, going to be small minorities complaining regardless of whether or not she chooses to run.
**If she runs the Dream Mile, she's going to be accused of wasting her time on a HS meet and taking away from "real HS runners" who don't have professional coaches.
**If she doesn't run the Dream Mile, she's going to be accused of lacking the "guts" to race "real HS runners" who don't have professional coaches.
Cain stayed home from World Indoors because of injury issues. Even if she is over them, there is at least a chance she might not be quite sharp enough to handle Alexa or Elise if they have a strong night.
I am picking Alexa, simply because her indoor 4:32 off uneven pace is worth sub-4:10 at a PJ time trial like Cranny had. Still going to be close, and likely tactical.
Pretty much summed it up.

Uhhh Cain is Cain. She doesn't need to race HS amateurs to prove anything. She beat Efraimson by 5 sec, Probably would beat Cranny by 10.
Cranny's 1500m PR is 5 seconds faster than Efraimson's. The f are you talking about.
Well said, Seyta.
I'm going with Cranny.
Cain is significantly faster than Cranny and Efraimson right now. We need to get them onto Alberto's juice, then they can race with her.
But srs, I expect all three of them to have a great rivalry in a few years.
Cain is a professional athlete with a pro agent and coach; she has bills to pay. Cain can make at least $5G in appearance fees along and perhaps 3xs that amount in performance incentives from a race; why would she race for free?
Cain is definitely not running a H.S. race for the same reasons she might not run Junior Nats.
This ^^^ just all of this ^^^^^^^
And btw: Cranny will win, why?
Efraimson ran 9:00, 4:32, but what has she done since?
Tried pushing it at NB Nat's at got 4:37, did a triple at a random track meet for no reason running okay times, tried to push Arcadia, positive splited a 9:55, then only ran a 2:09, what has Cranny been doing? Being conservative, getting in a really good base, won 6k at USA XC JR's by 45 seconds, still showed she had speed by a 2:06 at NB Nat's, went to Stanford ran a tactical 2:06 then ran 2:04 the next day, then ran a 4:10 at Payton Jordan which is equivalent to about a 4:30 Mile, which is faster than Efraimson's 4:32 so....... I mean..... Yeah, Cranny will win....
It will be close..........but who cares. Alexa has been running heavy miles and the race that matters is a few weeks later in Eugene. Alexa will win that one. Who cares how fast they are running right now.

Why do you predict that?
blah blah blah. This means nothing.

Cain is not invincible, hell people thought Sarah Baxter was invincible in XC, now she just sits at home in her room staring at the wall having nightmares of "the kick". Poor girl hasn't raced since.
12 Sarah Baxter 10:07.52a CA Simi Valley Mt. Carmel Track Invitational Sat, Mar 29 (2014)
I don't think any of AlSal's athletes will be there because it's an Adidas meet.
