Does anyone have experience taking cordyceps (the endurance mushroom)? I recently had a few HS kids ask me about getting on it and can't find much beyond the marketing campaigns and a WebMB summary.
Any experience or thoughts?

Apparently cordyceps was a key supplement used by Wang Junxia and Qu Yunxia. I did a paper on their suspicious world records for a college class, but found little to no info on this supposedly amazing mushroom. Anyone else?
Cordycep is just a genus of mushroom, there are several different strains of cordyceps including militaris and sinensis. I haven't read anything on Wunxia or anyone else in the age do you know which strain specifically they supplemented with?

No, I have no idea except that they used it. Their coach, Ma Junren, was very secretive. But the use of "caterpillar fungus" is referenced here
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1138577/1/index.htmDoes anyone know of any good research on human subjects, linking ophiocordyceps sinensis (caterpillar fungus) and endurance? Apparently, some have shown an endurance increase in rats, due to increased ATP production.
Looking for cordyceps sinesis information specifically. This was the supplement the Chinese took when they crushed all the world records in the early 90s (along with turtle blood). Some of my HS runners found a supplement called ShroomTech that is supposed to increase O2 uptake and improve VO2 max.
