Hi all,
I'd greatly appreciate any insight on my situation. I have recently dusted off my kicks and am in the process of returning to our beloved sport of running.
For various work, global relocation, and personal reasons i took about 2 years off from running. I used to run 80 to 95+ mile weeks, ran competitively, and qualified for OT in the marathon, in 2010. I had taken time off before, but usually nothing longer than 4 months.
However, during my hiatus, i did other types of fitness, more yoga/strength training, but not a lot of running...that is to say, i maintained some sort of regimen and didn't gain weight, but prob lost some.
Anyway, since Feb I've been building back my base, (i assume my old one that i had accumulated over 12+yrs is long gone) & I'm currently 50 - 70 mpw. Not impressive, i get it, but my legs feel like crap and i am so slow, it is UNREAL. I just don't know what to do..........
And i am trying not to get discouraged, but was wondering:
A. Will i ever not feel like crap
B. will i remain this ungodly slow
C. Become competitive again
D. Is there any supplemental strength/xt/alt i can do to get back in the game??
Thank you kindly for your insight, all is much appreciated!!!
