Goal: Sub 11 two mile by end of season
Next race: 5/6, 5/8, 5/10 Shoot me now
Goal for race: No clue how I'm gonna run all of these. (2mile)
M - 1m WU. 4 miles easy. Strides
T - 1m WU. 2 mile race in 11:15. Under my goal time for this race by 5 seconds, so I'm definitely happy. I negative splitted by 1 second, which is what I like to do, so that makes it even better. CD.
W - 1m WU. 5.9 at 7:25 pace easy. Core.
T - This day was really stupid... My coach (Hs) was really angry, because the girls team sucked at the last meet. 5x200 at sub 33, which really doesn't make much sense... 3.2m CD, but I felt like I didn't get anything useful from those 200s, so I did the first 2.5 at 6:55 pace. .7 easy. I really cherish those days where we don't have practice so I can actually do work that is helpful for a two-miler, instead of sprinting 200s every other day.
F - 1m WU. Steeplechase prep! I asked my coach to enter me in a 2k steeplechase race at an invitational meet yesterday. I'm 5' 5" and can't hurdle to save my life. I tried to hurdle a 36" and I wiped out badly. Cue panic attacks.
Sat - The big day! 1m WU. So I got there and it took me about 15 minutes to work up the courage to try and jump on one of the barriers. I did it and then realized that it was really easy and beyond fun. During the race I took it easy and didn't push the pace out of fear of hurting myself. No sense in ruining the rest of the season over a silly race! I got 7:51, which felt pretty easy. Technically it's the school record which is pretty hilarious. It was the most fun I have had in a while and I want to do it again. I might jump into one of the NB twilight meets and see how I can do pushing myself.
Sun - I did the Walk for Hunger, which is 20 miles. I feel fine as this was my 7th time, although my back is sore from the steeplechase!
