I have a half coming up in month, and I've run one about 2 years go in about 83:30. I've been hitting around 65 miles the past few weeks, should be 72-74 this week.
Workouts this week have been:
Sunday - 14.5 mile run with with first portion at around 7:00 - 7:20 pace and last 6.5 uptempo (6:08, 6:12, 6:06, 5:48, 5:46, 5:37). The first 3 of that tempo was into a headwind, last 3 were with the tailwind. Felt really good, felt like I was going pretty quick by the end but wasn't killing myself - although I was happy to be done.
Tuesday - 6x1 mile with 2 min rest (5:41, 5:46, 5:38, 5:33, 5:30, 5:27). Felt good.
Thursday - 2x3 mile (5:57, 5:53, 5:51) (5:52, 5:51, 5:43). Did not feel great here and wasn't too happy with the workout - the plan was to do a 6 mile tempo, but I wasn't feeling it, so I broke it up.
Thoughts? I'd like to go for around 78 - is that realistic?
