Unseen Gabriele Grunewald DQ Footage That USATF Does Not Want You to See For Your Viewing Pleasure

This is awesome that you guys found this but will you get in trouble for stealing since the USATF intended this to be private and unreleased?

Hilarious. USATF is looking worse everyday. Why would they not have released this video sooner? What did they have to gain?

LetsRun.com believes strongly in the integrity of the sport and it journalistic mission. There is a strong public interest in the video being seen. This video relates to transparency on the part of USATF.

The video is very benign.

LetsRun.com believes strongly our use of the video falls under "fair use" if USATF wants to make any copyright claim to the video.

If there was a controversial call in the NBA and the NBA had secret video it used to rule on the call and the video was leaked to the press entities would publish the video. That is what we are doing here.

And as for comparing this to the NBA... it's no small secret that NBA games are fixed. Running, on the other hand, remains an honorable sport.

It actually does look like Grunewald pushed Hasay from behind. She's a messy runner with Gordie Howe elbows at the very least. I actually do think she should have been DQed, that was pretty blatant impeding and on the last lap too.

As for the NBA being "fixed" I think that perception is why Silver is being so aggressive in admitting right away that calls were blown. I wish USATF would do the same with Bumbalough.

Please, inadvertant contact happens in races all the time. If this is DQ material, then someone (including me sometimes) should have been disqualified in EVERY race I ran from high school, college and through the Olympic Trials. Let 'em race.

Now the existence do the video proves IN FACT they did have additional footage which you claimed all along Never Existed. Is there a retraction? no.

"Inadvertent" means "not resulting from or achieved through deliberate planning." The contact on both occasions is caused by Grunewald running up the backs of her competitors and clipping their heels, remarkably so in Jordan's part, and only just barely so on Rowbury's part. That is not inadvertent on either time. As far as I know, there is no exception to the rule for reason that Grunewald "would've won anyways". Of course I think that she would have won anyways, but that is not a part of the rules as I understand them.

Good point. Letsrun definitely contributed to all the hype, in essence giving Hasay no other choice but to withdraw. What a shame.

Letsrun only advocated for transparency. They just wanted to see the additional evidence. Sure, because it wasn't released they were skeptical of its existence. But they were not saying it did not exist. They were saying if it did, it must be released.
