Convicted Drug Cheats Dennis Mitchell and Damu Cherry are USATF coaches for the World Relay Champs this year.
Am I the only one bothered by this?

Hey, people are stupid enough to believe KB was clean in his 5k and 10k records, so why be concerned about something so trivial on the 'national' level?
Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, WHERE is Sprintgeezer?
the big names who didn't get busted are even higher up the ladder in places like the IOC and politics
that's how doping works
just don't get caught

it's easier for them to believe
I would liken them to devoutly religious people
rather than stupid

For you kids in the audience -
Be sure to use PEDs - because that's what champions do!
And remember, Just Say No to getting caught.
Just to try to stay on topic, the point is that the USATF loses credibility in its anti-doping efforts when it appoints two convicted dopers to coach a national team.
It's yet another f-up by USATF.
Will any of the track and field media step up and ask the USATF why drug cheats are being chosen a coaches for a national team?
Exactly! It is one thing to be a suspected PED user, but CONVICTED users coaching national teams is supposed to be a BIG NO! NO! with the USOC. This is the kind of shit that I hope gets USATF de-certified as our NGB some day!
We can only dream....
I am also bothered that they got caught.
We need slicker coaches than that.
Thinking this didn't sound believable and not wanting to believe every anonymous thing on the Internet I check it out and OP is 100% accurate:

Dennis Mitchell is head coach for the sprint relays and Damu Cherry is assistant for women's sprint relays.
Incredible!
For those who have forgotten, Dennis Mitchell was the one who claimed he tested positive because teh night before he had "five bottles of beer and sex with his wife at least four times . . . it was her birthday, the lady deserved a treat."

He's married to Damu Cherry, who was banned for 2 years for steroids.

Pretty pathetic decision to make them coaches for Team USA.
I just can't get my hands around how lame Dennis Mitchell's excuse was.
Dennis, sweetheart, if you're going to dope, don't get caught. And if you do get caught, hire a professional writer to help you with your excuse.
So if you're a professional athlete, should you only have 1 beer and sex 1 time to be safe?
So has Dennis Miller ever come clean and admitted he doped or is he still pushing his lameass beer and sex excuse?
If he admitted he doped, that it was wrong, that he lied about it, and went straight, that would be one thing. People change and at least sometimes should be given a second chance. However, people who are still lying about being drug cheats are just the wrong people to pick as coaches for Team USA. It sends the message that if you just keep lying and brazen it through then people will forget that you were a cheater.
As a first time national team coach in 2014 I am going through all of the steps in order to be cleared and this year for the first time all coaches are having to take an online course and quiz from USADA in conjunction with WADA. The while basis of the program is that we as coaches havethe greatest amount of influence on these athletes. Kind of funny then that we would have known cheats in direct contact within that role. Talking out of both sides of the mouth regarding the issue.

He admitted it during the Trevor Graham trial:

Interestingn choice of picture to illustrate the article. Good thing Michael Johnson never doped...
USATF requires a background payment from any coaches working with youth. I am guessing the background checks do not take place with coaches working with adults.
The choice of coaches is a giant slap in the face to coaches who can pass background check. Hypocrisy to choose poor coaches for our teams and mandate through payment that the 'masses' of coaches pay to coach.

USATF: Hello, USATF.
CALLER: Hi, I'm calling to complain that USATF appointed two drug cheats as coaches for Team USA.
USATF: Is this Mr. Phil Knight?
CALLER: No.
USATF: Do you work for Mr. Knight?
CALLER: No.
USATF: F--- off. We'll do whatever we feel like.
