I've been training for about a year with a coach. He's a nice fellow, but told me after a track meet the week that I'm just "not a dude with a good genetics". I had just had a huge PB, and he did not even congratulate me. The entire race I had run really strong, even carrying almost half of the luggage at one point in the run. Literally wheeling it along, dodging in and out trying to get through, and he ignored almost every moment of it, just looking throught the window as if I wasn't even running. He just sat there at the Starbucks, nodding his head. I passed the 3rd place guy at one point even, coming very close to placing.
What kind of comment is that?
Well son let me tell you something about coaches and motivation. My junior year of high school, at the end of the season I was running in a big school meet trying to maybe qualify for states. The top 3 would qualify. I was in second place for most of the race but just couldn't hold on and died on the home stretch and ended up in 7th place. I was devastated, I was crushed emotionally. I went up to the coach after the race looking for some consolation to help me deal with this horrible last race of the season. My coach actually was angry at me. He bumped me, I fell to the ground. He stood over me and pointed his finger at me and yelled so every one could hear, "You are the biggest idiot I ever coached, I have never been more ashamed of an athlete!"
The next year I came back and joined the soccer team.
Now that's the way to troll son!
