I did a 20 miler in the heat yesterday (70 when I started, over 80 when I finished and very humid). I took about 16 ounces of gatorade/water at about 5 miles and took roughly that amount again at a water fountain about 11 miles into the run.
I was very hydrated at the start and never very overly dehydrated. However, after talking it over with friends they think I am not drinking nearly enough? Any thoughts. If I am drinking enough to do the run without problems, is there an advantage to taking in a little less? Will this added stress make me stronger?
