I agree. Their has to be some major shake up and chad will probably out of a job after this semester.

In 2012, the year Donn Cabral was an Olympic steeple finalist, Chelimo made him look like a jv runner in the 1500 at Raleigh Relays. I was coaching at Cornell and Cabral was basically viewed as a near deity; to see him get spanked like that was eye opening.
I would like to point out that Robert Johnson, though he coached at Cornell for several years, is a graduate of Princeton and not CU.
If chad leaves everyone is going to leave the team. He has done much more for Uncg than any other coach. Don't be so quick to judge. The AD DOESNT care about the Kenyans rep on the school as much as you think. She loves the guys but she would much rather see the coach pursue Americans. She has had issues with not only the xc team but also other teams who pull from other countries.
oh no, a bunch of 4:30 milers will leave. I hope they keep Chad.
Also I think Linh did a lot winning both the men's and women's titles there. Taking a place that had a school record of 15:07 to 13:20 is kind of a big deal.
But, I guess Chad losing 16 points at the national meet is more then Linh ever did.

If I was the AD, the day after the conference meet I would let Chad know he will no longer be needed. I don't care how it went down. When you lose the only All americans in school history when they have eligibility left, you are done.
No, you didn't.
The spelling and grammar of UNCG athletes is really on the decline since Nick Vacarro stopped running study hall.
StudyHall Nick's contributions have been sorely missed all around

I'm guessing you don't know much about College athletics.
When one coach leaves and another coach acts as the interim coach there is always turnover with athletes. Either the athletes weren't happy with the switch or for whatever reason they don't like the interim coach.
Doesn't mean Chap did anything. Now if athletes continue to leave after he has been there for a year then you can blame it on the coach. Right now there is to little information to make the conclusion.

hahaha that is rich. There is a reason you used to be a division 1 cross country coach.
But you are lying and you know it. When a new coach comes into a school or an assistant takes over from the old coach you almost ALWAYS have athletes leave who are not happy with the situation.
This is normal and you would know that if you had actually coached D1.
Once again you do not have enough information on the situation to make any assumptions. If the whole team up and quits then there might be an issue. One or two people leaving happens all the time when new coaches come to a team.
These message board post also always happen when one coach leaves and another takes over. The angry athletes who don't like the situation come on these boards and bash the new coach. Its a fairly typical pattern which you would know about if you had ever coached D1 Cross Country.

All- Americans? Whatever!
Yes, Linh as great of a coach as he was let the Kenyans get away with much more than they should have. If it is wrong of chad to disciples athletes who don't not follow team orders then yes he should leave. He hasn't done anything wrong. Chelimo, does his own thing, shows up when he wants, does whatever he wants. That doesn't look good to the other "4:30" milers Uncg has. Chelimo was disciplined for his actions and he took it too seriously. He isn't used to being told what to do.
Top 10 in Socon isn't saying much... What place did they do as a team??
Flazt. Where do you see the program going from here? Chelimo was the lebron james for unc greensboro. The rest of your team is made up of scrubs. I say chad needs to go!
I see the program rebuilding and getting back to focus. Chelimo is an awesome guy and awesome athlete but he does not shape the entirety of the team. People can rag on uncgs team as much as they want but what you don't understand is that the other 12 guys come to practice and work hard every day. Whether they run 5 minute miles or 4:20 they come out and do their best. That's all you can ask for and that's all that is going to happen.
Btw Paul is still on the team as of now.
5 mins- 4:20 in the mile? I guess that's all you can ask from a high school team.
Who cares? Stop worrying about Uncg and worry about you'r own team. Jesus, who cares what times they run? Your immaturity is ridiculous.
No hate on UNCG. I'm just saying my high school team could beat their team now.
I think you all need to go to division 3 and Chad needs to go.That is the direction your program needs because your squad is a joke and you need stop justifying more then half of your squad, who has no business running on a division one program........ Don't let me start posting times on here.Paul Chelimo isn't on the team, so stop with the bs
"Whether they run 5 minute miles or 4:20 they come out and do their best. That's all you can ask for and that's all that is going to happen"
So basically unc greensboro is a runners orphanage and their are no standards and you can run whatever at meets. I agree, You shouldn't be a division one program and your coach has to go. This isn't high school. I feel sorry for Chelimo.
Btw my younger sister goes to unc greensboro. She runs a 6 minute mile. I'm going to tell her to try out.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
