What's the deal with all the Cortland drops? Very few runners from Cortland actually entered in the meet.
Cortland's strength is primarily sprints and jumps this year (like most years), Patrick is saving/rehabbing his main mid-D, distance guys (Cody/Marc) for outdoors.
Weakest I've seen the 5k up top in quite the while. Looks like we'll send no one to nationals this year in it. Maybe Clark will sneak in for the 3k but otherwise the conference has really gone soft in the distance events. Hopefully outdoor brings better results for our once great conference.
SUNYAC seems to go through cycles every year of what event(s) are the best. This year it's the LJ, TJ, and 200. A few years ago it was the 400 and 5k/10k.
Buff State Wins!!

The 5k men's race was hardly weak. How many Sunyac 5ks in the past have had 3 guys go sub 15? Very few. MIles-Rath went for the time and pulled everyone else along with him. Good pack of 5 for 2 miles.
By that logic Mike Schram was a better 10k runner than Eddie Novara because he ran faster at SUNYACs. The assessment by In General is very accurate. Clark is way back on the 3k list now as well. I remember when Geneseo alone had 5 guys who had run under 15 in the 5k all on the team together.

That is a terrible comparison. Eddie Novara did not run in the 10k last year against Schram, he graduated a year before.
Indoor SUNYACs was a great meet to watch this year. Things that I enjoyed:
The mile was won by the slow heat.
The 800 was won by some new unknown buff state freshman as they went 123.
An Oneonta guy ripped his shirt into two pieces as he crossed the finish line in the 200.
Buff State won the 4x4 using two mid distance runners.
An Oneonta guy ripped his shirt into two pieces as he crossed the finish line in the 200.
Did he get DQ'd?
No looks like he didn't. It was hilarious to watch.
I think that was his point, that you're using one good conference race to say the 5k was strong this year, even though the runners in it were weaker than yearrs past.

Not so sure why all these old farts keep calling out the current state of the SUNYAC. Here are the top 10 results in the 5k for the past 4 years. Also this year does not yet include any ECAC/NCAA data. Doesn't look too far off any other years. Granted there may not be a front runner stud but this overall group seems not much different than any other group in the last 4 years.

Cortland dominates Geneseo in the slow heats of the 1500m at Bucknell, how the mighty have fallen...
Yes, both teams were unimpressive in the 15, if that's what you meant.
