Pronghorns may be able to do 60 MPH for a full sprint - perhaps 30 seconds. They can also go around 40 -45 MPH for a few hours.

I do actually agree with you. I'd be highly surprised if that's true. 40-45 mph sounds more reasonable to me : still amazing. The post I made earlier is most likely incorrect; that's the speed/distance I've most commonly heard given for them, but I'd be more than surprised if it's accurate.
The greater point I was making is that this incredible endurance doesn't seem to me, at all, to be an evolutionary response to a predator like a cheetah.
