As my cross country season begins to come to an end, my coach has been asking me which group I will choose to train with during track season. To be honest, I don't really know which race is my best one because I have been improving so much over the last two years. Started running SR year of HS 2010-2011.
2011: 3 mile xc 16:18, 3200 10:02, 1600 4:38, 800 1:58
2012: Stopped running went away to college. Then returned and went to community college.
2013: CC: 4 mile xc 22:38, 8k xc 28:41, 1500 4:01, 5k track 15:22, 800 1:58, 3000 9:11. Transferred to D1.
Fall 2013: D1: 4 mile xc 20:57, 8k xc 25:48, 6k 18:44
I hope you can kind of see how my progression can be confusing for me.
I have never run a 10k before and only one track 5k. I enjoyed the 5k because I ran much better than I thought I would. I also enjoyed the 1500. When I was at the CC I trained for 5k and then at the end of the season transitioned into shorter speed type stuff.
Which event do you guys think I should focus on?
