I run about 35 mpw, and try to keep it about 7 minute/mile pace or lower. (however if I drop to about 715 it feels like a breeze).
To me, this feels harder than easy, and I usually feel burning as I near the end of runs. I'm going to be a HS senior, and barely started doing distance last year, with about 30 mpw or less (spotty training, no more than 1-2 months of running at a time). This was all at 8+min/mile pace. My coaches say that 7 minute pace is too slow for me and that I need to run more and faster.
Just curious to why it feels so hard, if anyone has any answers.
