Hey all, I\'m a college junior. I ran 16:50 for 5K in HS (in XC), with 50 MPW training. After that, for a couple years, I took time off and just kind of hung out. Now I want to get back into it. I have PR\'s of 53, 2:08, 4:49, 10:40. I always had speed but never the aerobic strength.
For starters, I have started training already a bit, as I\'ve gotten a couple good months in. I ran 17:53 towards the beginning of the cycle, just to see what kind of shape I\'m in. I don\'t really have many structured workouts. I do a tempo, and some sort of fartlek/interval per week, along with a long run.
The goal is March-May, track season. I\'ve read a couple books, but I don\'t know which plan is ideal for me. I feel that I could definitely go under 16 with more aerobic training, but I don\'t know how to go about it since I\'ve already started doing workouts.
Any input? I would be glad to give any other info needed.
