To impress most girls just give the impression that you have a decent amount of money.
fast enough to pay for a house, vehicles, vacations, kids, etc. otherwise, why would they care?
Girls like guys who are the best of a group of guys at something. You could be a measly 19:00 5k guy, but if you're the #1 on the team, then you're just as attractive as a 15:00 5k guy.
sub-16
plod a 4-hour marathon.
sub 15 if you're young, sub 14 if you're older but still can improve, sub 13:15 if you're at your lifetime peak. Those times means that coaches and sponsors are interested in you. Only then the girls will catch an interest in you.
Even runner girls don't like skinny runner boys. Your best and only hope is to make a lot of money one day. At least that way you can get the hot superficial b*tches.
10 inches
I picked up a girl after winning a small local road race in about 17 flat. She wasn't really a runner so I think just the fact that I won impressed her and led to more conversation.
Look, I love running. I've been doing it for a while, probably like you have. But let me tell you this: your 5k running does not impress most girls. Virtually none actually.
Keep running because it is something you love, because it give you personal satisfaction. Do not think that it will impress girls.
You should actually try to develop a personality and get an education that will allow you to make a good living. I know personality is probably going to be a tough one for you (if you think your running can be useful for impressing girls then you clearly have no personality to impress others) so really focus on money.
you can impress them with a 23 min 5k, but only if you're handsome. first rule of attracting girls is: don't be ugly.
It may be cliche, but women are attracted to money. Unless you're an uber athletic and good looking male, good luck maximizing your p#ssy potential without a sky high stack of bills. Once I turned 30 and had established myself my relationships suddenly became much better and more frequent. Funny how that also corresponded with me buying a BMW and a new place and have a more impressive job title. Most (not all) chicks are at least somewhat superficial.

Well said.
Faster than me is my only preference. Most girls don't seem to care if you run a sub-16 5K or complete the color run with them.
Fast enough to get the hell out of my way during a trail run. Nothing worse than a group of self-impressed, skinny runner guys clogging up the trail.
Girls are really impressed by Olympians so I would shoot for that. If you are at a school and everyone knows you as the guy that wins everything that could help with the ladies.
Mo Farah ran 13:09 but married a less than hot girl. I bet he slaps himself for not waiting a couple of years.
So remember that, young guys: don't pick a wife before you've been on the juice for a few years
Here are the ranges: Fast enough to be an olympian. That's it as far as sure-fire. For a likely range:19:00-23:00. Fast enough to be in shape, not fast enough to be scrawny. This is for 20 somethings though, things slide in favor of the slim but fit crowd by 35, 40, when most men are more big fat than big muscular.
Women don't want a fast distance guy because:
(1) He's so obsessive about his nutrition and training that he won't know how to relax, drink margaritas, have enough energy for sex, or in any way be an enjoyable partner to have.
(2) He is skinny, probably short as well. Women want to cuddle with a tall, muscular quarterback, not a bony twerp. They also don't want a guy who makes them look fat.
(3) No one cares about the fact that he can run 5 kilometers in a fast time. That's not considered "athleticism" to any normal person. Usually it's considered compensation for the fact that you can't hack it at any real sport.
(4) Fast distance runners are usually poor. They **** about having to pay $15 dollars for a race even though they're getting a t-shirt, orange slices, tokens to the beer garden and a Trek Madone road bike for getting 1st place.
(5) Fast distance runners are socially underdeveloped due to their solitary hobby.
