I have been running 90 miles a week for the past month on 7 runs. I am gearing up for the college cross season and would like to be at my best, like everyone else who runs. I believe that I should run a little more in the next 4 - 6 weeks. I run 12 every run except for the 17 mile sunday run. If I dropped 3 of the 12 milers to 10 milers and threw on some 4 mile morning runs this would give me around 95. Is this worth it? Should I make a couple of my 12 milers 13 milers or 14 milers? Has anyone been here? I know that this is a silly question that cannot be truley answered but insight from others would be most helpful. Last year I averaged 80 - 85 on singles the majority of the year. In the future doubles will most certainly be in the training plan but I am stuck right now. I am geared more towards the longer races so cross is not a training through season used to get ready for track.
