This goes with all of the events. What is the formula to figure out when things will be shown????
Every post and Email I get seems to have different times and what not.
Thank

The 10,000m is going to be at 3:35 Eastern Time, live on NBC and CBC.
The schedule I have says the mens 10k is Friday at 10:35pm Athens time - that would be 3:35pm EST. Subtract 7 hours from Athens time to get EST.
Just to be anal about it, it's EDT not EST. Most of the USA and Europe follow Daylight Savings Time during the summer.
So the 10K is live at 3:35PM EDT on NBC? I heard earlier that it was going to be live at 12:30 PM. . . which is correct?
Either I leave work during lunch or I duck out early. . .
Thanks!
could it be 12:30 PM Pacific Time?
just checked 2 separate schedules. Yahoo shows 3:50 PM Eastern time, the TV schedule 3:35PM Eastern (time for human interest stories). LIVE on NBC.
correction on Yahoo schedule. The TV schedule shows it during the 12:30-4PM slot. I have no idea how Bekele is going to run the 10K in 10 minutes but from what we have seen, events have run over there time slots at night. God I hope they don't cut this off....
Bump.
I've posted this same question on coolrunning.com. So is 3:35 EST/EDT on NBC, live, actually correct? That's 2:35 for me, here in Oxford, MS, which means I WILL have to miss the 2:30 faculty meeting.....
Surely in this web-based age, we should be able to get a firm answer about this race--a race we're all looking forward to with great anticipation.[quote]IB wrote:
Not sure when the 10K is but I do know for sure that at 8pm pacific it's the Men's
Syncronized Swimming Finals!
Geez, this isn't rocket science. The race is scheduled to start at 10:35 pm in Athens. Subtract 7 hours to get Eastern Daylight Time (thanks, Jim), or additional hours as appropriate. So here goes:
mens 10k, Friday August 20th
3:35pm Eastern Time
2:35pm Central Time
1:35pm Mountain Time
12:35pm Pacific Time
thank god for accountants
ok, before anybody says anything, those are DAYLIGHT SAVINGS times, so if you live in one of those states that doesn't observe it, adjust accordingly. You'd subtract another hour I think.
1. Fact: there is a 7 hr difference in EDT and Athens time.
2. NBC website info: 10k final is 5:05pm Athens time.
3. NBC website info: 10k final is broadcast live at 3:30pm EDT.
=> Clearly one of the pieces of NBC web info is incorrect. Anybody know which?
I haven't been in much doubt about the race was taking place in Athens--or, by extension, when it was taking place here--but I WAS in doubt about whether some or all of it would be covered live.
Yes, the NBC website does indeed state that the 10K final will be covered live at 3:30 EST. Since the race begins at 10:35 Athens time, or 3:35 EST, that makes perfect sense: five minutes of Marty Liquori or whomever getting us prepped, then the start. We can assume, I think, that the 4 PM program will start a couple of minutes late, to allow for a 26:20 finishing time, or whatever our heroes manage to throw down...
IAAF website says the start is at 10:35pm Athens...conflicts with the NBC website, but hopefully IAAF is right...I'm going with believing 10:35pm
USATF site also says 10:35 PM Athens time.
this is fricken retarded, how hard is it for those morons to cover the OLYMPICS for goodness sake. I think the fricken UPN network could do better.
Since the 10,000 meters is my favorite event in all of sports, I scheduled a vacation day tomorrow. Hope they show the entire race.
the race starts at 3:35 eastern and coverage supposedly ends at 4 pm eastern, so do we see 23 laps of the race and then get "Next on Oprah..."? i'm predicting that we see oprah.
